Corporate History Year 1978 : Metoxide started it's first operations in Malaysia when it set up a Zinc Oxide plant in Mak Mandin Industrial Area in Butterworth Year 1988 : The steady increase in the demand for it's main product Zinc Oxide meant that the company had to expand the capacity very rapidly. A new plant was set up in Prai Industrial Area and the company Metoxide Malaysia Sdn Bhd soon became the leading supplier of Zinc Oxide in Malaysia. Year 1992 : Metoxide diversified the operations and set up a plant under a new company Metoxide Frits and Cemicals Sdn Bhd to manufacture Ceramic Frits and Glazes for use in Ceramic Tiles, Sanitary ware, Tableware, Giftware. The installed capacity of the Zinc Oxide plant was also increased very substantially to cater to the increased demand for exports to Singapore, Japan and other countries in the region. Year 1998 : Metoxide started a Trading division with the main objective of servicing the requirements of the Rubber, Paints and Ceramic Industries in Malaysia.
